It’s hard to imagine how tough it must be for presidential candidates to keep the names straight on all the people they meet in the torrid stress of daily campaign appearances.
And nicknames? We really should cut our politicians slack on getting nicknames right. Right?
So, here was presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a Michigan born guy, in a business roundtable meeting today in Frankenmuth with 11 people, including Gov. Rick Snyder, talking about stuff like the difficulty of getting small business loans and how government regulations hurt the tourism industry when Romney refers to the Michigan governor.
“One Tough Geek,” he calls him.
Uhhhhhh?
The governor quickly helped out, “Nerd,” Snyder said.
Yes, that’s our governor: “One Tough Nerd.”
