Retailer: Media Blasters Cancels 1st BD Volume of Bakuman

Share

The Robert’s Anime Corner Store retailer reported in its weekly e-mail newsletter on Friday that Media Blasters has permanently canceled its release of Bakuman Season 1 Part 1 on Blu-ray Disc. The retailer noted that Media Blasters did not provide a reason for the cancellation, and that the volume was originally scheduled to be released on June 26.

The retailer Right Stuf has also changed its availability status for the release to “No Longer Available For Purchase,” even though it was previously available for purchase on June 8 according to a snapshot of the page cached by Google. Amazon currently lists that the volume will be released on June 19.

Media Blasters previously put the Bakuman (Second Draft) DVD Collection #2 release on indefinite hold in February. The Bakuman release was to have included episodes 8-13 on two discs, and had an original release date of February 29. A new release date for the collection has yet to be set.

Media Blasters did not return ANN’s requests for comment by press time.
