Syfy Developing Swash-Buckling Space Adventure Show Clandestine

It sure feels as if the Syfy Channel is making more of an effort to keep the “sci-fi” in their “syfy”, if you know what I mean. The network has greenlit a number of very obviously sci-fi shows to go along with all the nonsense on their network (they’re still showing wrasslin’, right?), and now they can add what is being called a “swash-buckling space adventure” TV series.

The show in question is called “Clandestine”, from Todd Stashwick and Dennis Calero, and “revolves around mercenaries who masquerade as part of an Intergalactic fleet.” John Shiban, a long time TV genre vet (“The X-Files” and “Supernatural”, to name just two) will be overseeing the pilot script and producing.

At this point the show is just in development, so it could get made or it might get lost in all the shuffle. We’ll certainly keep track of it, though.
